Source and Destination Folders

Here you define all folders between which a copy operation should be performed.

Folder List

Source and destination folders are managed in two separate lists. New folders can be added via the toolbar or by drag & drop from other programs such as Windows Explorer. Activation or deactivation is done via the checkbox in front of each folder path.
Note: With the copy mode 'Synchronize', only one destination folder can be activated at a time.

Assignment of Source and Destination Folders

If you activate multiple folders, a copy operation is performed between all source and destination folders:
  • 1st source folder with 1st destination folder
  • 1st source folder with 2nd destination folder
  • 2nd source folder with 1st destination folder
  • 2nd source folder with 2nd destination folder
  • ...
If you enable the option '1:1 assignment of all source and destination folders', only opposite folders are compared:
  • 1st source folder with 1st destination folder
  • 2nd source folder with 2nd destination folder
  • ...

Table Columns

  • Exclude all subfolders in source folder
Excludes all subfolders of the source folder from copy operation.
  • Exclude all files in root directory of source folder
Excludes all files in root directory of source folder from copy operation.
  • Username / Password
    Login credentials for password-protected folders.

Variables

  • You can use Windows environment variables in the folder path.
    Example:C:\%USERNAME% ➝ C:\John
  • You can use placeholders for date and time in the folder path.
    Example: C:\%yyyy%\%mm%\%dd% ➝ C:\2025\08\17
  • For external USB devices with changing drive letters, you can use the variable %{DriveLetter}:{DriveName}%. AllSync searches all available drives for matches with the specified name. If successful, the corresponding drive is used. Wildcards such as * and ? are allowed in the drive name. The drive letter can be freely chosen.
    Example:
%X:Windows%\Backup results in K:\Backup if a drive with the letter K: and the name Windows is found.
  • You can use the variable %MDL:{DrivePosition}%, which refers to the position of an entry in the drive list of the profile property 'Connect drives'. The path %MDL:1%\Backup then results in X:\Backup, for example, if the first entry in the drive list is mapped to drive letter X:.

Options

  • 1:1 assignment of all source and destination folders
Specifies that only opposite source and destination folders are processed:
    • 1st source folder with 1st destination folder
    • 2nd source folder with 2nd destination folder...
  • Automatically create source folder in destination folder
Allows automatic creation of the source folder in the destination folder. The following variants are possible:
    • Only the last folder name
      Example:
      C:\Source Folder\Data ➝ D:\Destination Folder\Data
    • Full source folder path
      Example:
      C:\Source Folder\Data ➝ D:\Destination Folder\Source Folder\Data
    • Complete source folder path including drive letter or computer name
      Examples:
      • C:\Source Folder\Data ➝ D:\Destination Folder\C\Source Folder\Data
      • \\Server01\Source Folder\Data ➝ C:\Destination Folder\Server01\Source Folder\Data

    This option is automatically enabled:
    • When multiple source folders are activated in the 'Synchronize' copy mode.
    • When the copy rule 'Delete data in destination that does not exist in source' is enabled.
