General

All settings for a copy operation between two or more folders are grouped into a profile.
Various predefined copy modes such as mirroring or synchronization are available.
A wide range of copy rules allows you to customize the copy modes to your individual needs.
AllSync supports the input and processing of text with Unicode characters in all program areas.
AllSync offers a variety of options to tailor the program to your needs.
The user interface and help file are available in multiple languages, including German and English.
The help file is provided in CHM format and can be printed as a manual if needed.

Profiles

You can create any number of profiles and organize them in different folders using the profile list.
The Profile Assistant helps you create new profiles.
With the Profile Chaining Manager, you can link multiple profiles so they run automatically in sequence.
The Shortcut Assistant lets you create desktop shortcuts for your profiles to quickly start a copy operation.

Copy Preview

AllSync can generate a preview of the actions to be performed during a copy operation.
You can define custom background and text colors for preview actions to better distinguish them.
The file and folder actions in the copy preview can be modified and then processed to execute the copy operation exactly as desired.
The copy preview offers various filter options to display only relevant actions in the report.
With QuickSync, you can quickly create a copy preview between two folders without creating a new profile.

Copy Operation

Required BitLocker drives can be unlocked before a copy operation.
Local folders or network shares can be mapped to a drive letter before a copy operation.
TrueCrypt or VeraCrypt drives and containers can be mounted before a copy operation.
A required remote connection can be established before a copy operation to access necessary networks or servers.
Other programs or batch files can be executed automatically before or after a copy operation.
Visual Basic scripts can be executed before or after a copy operation.
Windows services can be stopped, started, or restarted before or after a copy operation.
A clear progress indicator displays the current status during the copy operation.
Various actions such as copying or deleting files can be logged during a copy operation.

Automated Copy Operations

With the AllSync Scheduler, you can automatically start your profiles at specific times or events.
In the Scheduler, you can create a task that runs any number of profiles in sequence.
A task can be started automatically daily, on specific weekdays, or on designated calendar days at a specific time.
A task can also be started repeatedly at fixed intervals within a defined time range.
A task can be executed automatically at Windows startup or shutdown.
The Scheduler can monitor a folder and start a task as soon as the folder becomes available.
You can monitor up to two folders for changes and start the task once a defined number of changes is reached.
The Scheduler can also start tasks automatically on various events, such as when the screensaver is activated, during system idle, or when waking from standby.
The Scheduler can be installed as a Windows service, allowing automated copy operations without user login.

Copying Files and Folders

AllSync offers various copy methods for copying files.
AllSync supports files and folders with path lengths up to 32,000 characters.
Files can be copied even if they are opened and locked by other applications.
AllSync supports files and folders with Unicode characters in their names.
AllSync can copy access permissions of files and folders.
If an error occurs while copying a file, additional copy attempts can be made until the file is copied successfully or the error limit is reached.
If a file to be copied is locked, the blocking application is identified and logged.
With the File-Lock Analyzer, you can check which Windows process is blocking access to a file.
After copying a file, the attributes of the source and destination file can be modified.
After copying a file, the contents of the source and destination file can be compared to ensure they are identical.

Synchronize Folders

AllSync detects if the same file was modified on both sides since the last synchronization.
Detects if a file was replaced by an older version since the last synchronization.
Detects if a file with the same name but different modification date was added on both sides since the last synchronization.
Detects if files and folders were deleted, renamed, or moved on one side since the last synchronization.

ZIP Data Compression

AllSync supports the ZIP compression format for space-saving backups.
The ZIP file can be encrypted with AES-256-bit.
The following compression methods can be used: Deflate, Deflate64, BWT, and LZMA.
The ZIP file can be split into multiple archives.
File permissions can be stored in the ZIP file.
With the ZIP File Manager, you can inspect, extract, or list the contents of ZIP files created with AllSync.

Data Security

Data that is deleted, overwritten, or moved during a copy operation can be stored in a separate backup folder.
To save space, backed-up data in the backup folder can be compressed into a ZIP file.
You can limit the number of backups by defining a maximum number of backup generations.
Alternatively, local data can be backed up to the Windows Recycle Bin.

Filter Functions

With the extensive filter functions, you can exclude individual files, specific file types, or folders from a copy operation.
Files and folders can be excluded based on their properties such as name, path, date, size, or attributes.
Filters for name or path support regular expressions (RegEx) and various wildcards like * or ?.
Files and folders can be filtered by creation, modification, or last access date.
Files and folders can also be filtered by their folder level in a tree structure.

Logs

AllSync provides various log files to keep you informed about all operations.
A separate log file is created for each profile.
With the Log Manager, you can view and search logs directly within the program.
Old entries in log files can be removed automatically.
Log files can be automatically archived once they reach a certain size.

Notifications

The log of a copy operation can be sent via email after a profile run.
The log of a task run can be sent via email at the end.
Messages can be displayed in the notification area of the Windows taskbar.

Command Line

AllSync can be launched via the command line with various parameters, allowing integration into other programs or workflows.

Miscellaneous

The storage location for AllSync’s application data can be defined individually.
All settings in AllSync can be backed up using the data export and restored using the data import.
You can define custom keyboard shortcuts for all commands in the menu and toolbar of the AllSync main window.
The color scheme of AllSync’s user interface can be customized in the options, ranging from light to dark.
AllSync supports the use of Windows environment variables for folder and file names in many program areas.
With folder templates, you can quickly and easily use frequently accessed folders across different program areas. This saves you from manually navigating through folder trees or typing paths.
Various program areas can be protected with a password.
The time format for displaying date and time can be customized in the options.
With the Update Tool, you can keep your AllSync version up to date.
